Narrate Ali Ibn Abi Taalib: Allah’s Messenger sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam said:
“The screen between the eyes of Jinn and the private parts of the sons of Adam as one of them enters the toilet is that he should say: Bismillaah [In the name of Allaah].”
The full supplication when entering the toilet is:
[بسم الله] اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّيْ اَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْخُبْثِ وَ الْخَبائِثْ.
(Bismillah] Allaahumma inna ‘a’udhu bika minal khubthi wal khabaa’ith).
“[In the Name of Allaah]. Oh Allah, I seek protection in you from unclean spirits, male and female.”
Reported by Imaam Ahmed and Imaam Abu Dawood.
Saying Bismillah (in the Name of Allaah) before entering one’s home, before eating or drinking, and before having intercourse will also keep the Shaytaan from entering the house or partaking with a person in his food, drink and sexual activity. Similarly, mentioning the name of Allah before entering the toilet or taking off one’s clothes will prevent the jinn from seeing a person’s ‘awrah (private parts) or harming him, as the Prophet (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) said:
“The screen between the eyes of Jinn and the private parts of the sons of Adam as one of them enters the toilet is that he should say: Bismillaah [In the name of Allah].”
As for saying Bismillaahi when undressing see Sunan At-Tirmidhi 2/505, ‘Irwa’ul Ghaleel no. 49 and Sahihul-Jami’ 3/203
