Look into your heart

Bismillah-hir-Rahman-Nir Raheem

In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful.

Would you not be devastated if on the Day of Judgement you suddenly found out that you had achieved nothing? Nothing…

Every single day of your life was for nothing and you achieved nothing, while you thought all along that you was “securing” your future…

Allah subhanahu wa ta’Ala says in the Noble Qur’an, the meaning of which is:

“Those whose efforts have been wasted in this life while they thought that they were acquiring good by their deeds.”
(  سورة الكهف  , Al-Kahf, Chapter #18, Verse #104)

May Allah subhanahu wa ta’Allah protect us from such calamity.

What can we and should we do?

1)   Purify our intentions:

(Narrated ‘Umar bin Al-Khattab: I heard Allah’s Apostle saying,

“The reward of deeds depends upon their intentions and every person will get the reward according to what he has intended. So whoever emigrated for worldly benefits or for a woman to marry, his emigration was for what he emigrated for.”

Bukhari  (Book #1, Hadith #1)

Every deed of ours should be for the Pleasure of Allah and we should start all our actions with “Bismillah” otherwise our good deeds will vanish into thin air.

In Islam every act, if it is done with purity of intention which is being done strictly for the pleasure of Allah, is an act of worship. Can you imagine the loss of such an  opportunity to acquire rewards from  the Most Merciful?

2)   According to the Sunnah

Our deeds should be done as prescribed and according to the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad sallahu alayhi wa salaam.

Narrated ‘Abdullah: The best talk (speech) is Allah’s Book ‘Quran), and the best way is the way of Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa salaam), and the worst matters are the heresies (those new things which are introduced into the religion); and whatever you have been promised will surely come to pass, and you cannot escape (it).

Bukhari (Book #92, Hadith #382)

Don’t we all hope and strive for the pleasure of our Lord? Why then do we not take heed?
